In regards to your dilemma as to whether the content people share on Facebook is private or fair game, I would have to lean towards the latter. I cannot imagine why anyone would have any reasonable expectation of privacy over something which they publicly shared on the internet. Looking forward to the new book.Johnimxhhttp://vision2020.hale-center.k12.tx.us/groups/appletrainingday2group1/wiki/3cad0/Some_Pleasure_With_Some_Another_Lingo.htmlnoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-7392561731613726236.post-79687684082545270402010-10-04T03:38:47.619-07:002010-10-04T03:38:47.619-07:00Great post Lee!!! As much as I indulge my need of solitude on a daily basis -- it it somewhat thrilling to know that I am connected, via the world wide web, to a network of writer friends all going about their day in the same way I am. Writing, eating, popping on and off, blogs, FB, e-mail, etc. There have been days when it's the only thread of humanity I engage until my real flesh and blood children and husband arrive home at the end of the day...Robin Antalekhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/07364290062604757682noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-7392561731613726236.post-27131842497002501902010-09-16T08:58:53.375-07:002010-09-16T08:58:53.375-07:00Thanks, all, for commenting on my entry. I'm thinking this morning of years ago when I published a story in Yankee Magazine, that wonderful regional mag from New England, thinking that no one from my native Midwest would ever see it. The story was a fictionalized account of my parents and the farming accident that cost my father both of his hands. Well, wouldn't you know, that a friend of my aunt's happened to be on vacation in Vermont, and wouldn't you know that she was staying in a B and B, and what did she find in her room, but the issue of Yankee that had my story in it. When my aunt heard all about it, she was mortified. "I'm never telling you family stories again," she told me. Jeez, who knew people from my little farming community actually traveled to New England?Lee Martinhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/04353089877132872718noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-7392561731613726236.post-61906499403116730672010-09-16T08:25:08.585-07:002010-09-16T08:25:08.585-07:00Wonderful comments, ladies. Although I don't think I say anything particularly usable, unless things like dental surgery suffice as the stuff of good fiction :) Oh and Lee's next book is arriving this coming summer from Crown -- I can't wait!Rebecca Rasmussenhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/11173544013811828275noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-7392561731613726236.post-43723593876129637602010-09-15T17:48:17.991-07:002010-09-15T17:48:17.991-07:00AAAACK! About your Facebook dilemma: I say if people are posting things then it's okay to look at them...you are fictionalizing, after all. But the whole thing, all of it, is mind bogglingly weird in ways I don't think we've even analyzed yet. Thanks for posting this!Elizabeth Stuckey-Frenchhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/01123328338607200948noreply@blogger.com
